The Vision
Two programmers turned footwear designers, united by a shared frustration with the lack of quality high-top boat shoes and the determination to build their own solution.
The Story Behind Mokshoes
It started as a weekend conversation between two programmers who shared a passion for both code and style. Andy and Jay, software engineers by day and fashion enthusiasts by night, found themselves constantly searching for the perfect high-top boat shoe that simply didn't exist in the market.
"We spent months looking for a shoe that combined the classic Sperry aesthetic with modern comfort and style," says Andy. "When we couldn't find it, we realized we had the skills to create it ourselves—treating it like any other side project, but with leather and canvas instead of code."
What began as a personal quest for the perfect shoe evolved into Mokshoes. Using their problem-solving mindset and attention to detail, Andy and Jay spent evenings and weekends learning about footwear construction, sourcing materials, and iterating on designs until they created the Park City Surfer—the shoe they always wanted to wear.
